DOUBLE EAGLE CREW
Brian grew up on the water, both ocean and lakes. He's worked aboard the Double Eagle since 2015 and skippered land-craft boats, managing the Trustee of Reservation islands including Misery Islands and Crowninshield Island - formerly known as Brown's Island. Brian's love of the water is matched only by his love of traveling - and his travels almost always include seeking out interesting boats. One of his favorite adventures was traveling for a week on a sixty foot canal boat along the Kennet & Avon Canal in the west of England. When he is is not on the Double Eagle he is spending time with his family, often at his lakeside retreat in Maine. Brian is also a high school Spanish teacher which has given him the ability to stay calm no matter how high the seas.
OWNER, RELIEF CAPTAIN
Walter spent childhood summers on Baker's Island. After learning to walk, Walter learned to sail, or so it seemed. He grew up racing Sunfish, O'Days, Rhodes 19's, Shields and Tempests. He has crewed on numerous windjammers from the Caribbean to Maine, and back again. During college, he worked in Alaska on commercial fishing boats. It's safe to safe there isn't a ocean or sea, he hasn't sailed, or is on his list. When he's not on the water, Walter owns and operations Essex Restoration, building new homes and restoring old ones. He is also the owner of Double Eagle Charters.
